If I was a long term holder in this company I'd be a lot more concerned with the abandonment of dividends, overpriced acquisitions every time they get their balance sheet in order, questionable editorial policies and ongoing legal adventures than about a few long term employees (especially the ones that actually do something).
This company has always had access to plenty of cash when it needs it, the problem is what it chooses to spend it on.
