why isn't Joe Hockey getting any credit for his criticism of the banks?

Didn't he raise the issue?
Labor accused him of being anti free market didn't they?

Now they seem to have done an about face and adopted his policy suggestions.

I have been looking at his argument and it seems sound to me from an invisible hand perspective.
He is calling for greater competition.
It is true, there needs to be a greater ability to switch banks and there is price signalling
What I don't get is that Labor is not being attacked for being critical of Jo Hockey?
Why are we letting these snakes squirm out of this situation?
