You think I care whether you believe me or not? What a silly thing to say. It wasn't the only reason but it certainly started my on my journey to get out.

There's a big wide world out there and it's full of employment opportunities for those who want to have a go.

Plenty of projects and countries offer very good USD denomination tax paid/tax free jobs. With flights and accommodation and medical all covered.

Yes you have to work hard which scares a lot of people off, and most aren't in very nice places.

But the benefits to career and bank balance can be enormous.

Australia is losing highly skilled and highly paid people to overseas because the payg rates are punishing. Meanwhile people rake in profits on investments, claim all sorts of things via their business, and get huge discounts on capital gains etc.

Labor is taxed far too highly in Australia imo.
