    Oh dear, More delusions, despite you posting verses, that should have cleared them up. hmmm

    "@wotsup doesn't know that John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus.
    Well, perhaps he did knowing without realising it that Jesus is God."

    Jesus is God you say = NOT according to Jesus when he was here;
    This now is the eternal life that they should know you (Father) the only true God and whom you have sent, Jesus Christ.

    So, he is clearly referencing the Father independently of himself, as the only true God.

    What part of the following, are you NOT grasping, as to WHO the way at first was being prepared for.
    Never have I said that it wasn't also being prepared or no mentioning of Jesus by John, when John was doing the Clear following.
    Mal 3:1 - Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to (the) temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith Yehowah of hosts.
    Isa 40:3 - The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of Yehowah, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. = (Yehowah)

    Hence, as we know from the scriptures, John the Baptist would have been teaching the likes of the things in the first 13 verses of John, in relation to Yehowah (him and his word) and as well as that, he was mentioning the one (Jesus) that was to come also, as Mal 3:1 also shows, he would suddenly appear.
    And sure enough, not long after Jesus meets John, he goes to the Temple, which he refers to as the Father House.

    John was making straight = truth, ground work, who was, what was, Yehowah and his word and what that represents, one being the light of men, that enlightens every man coming into the world, including Adam.
    And God said, let there be light = The word of life coming from the Father, spirit and life, to which he Gave the Son to have life in himself John 5:26, words of eternal life John 6:68.

    John 1:17 - For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
    Mark 1:8 - I (John) baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

    Lights on, are you getting a sneak peak of the context and who John was first making the way for??? rolleyes.png
