    DRC: The Minister of Justice asks the IGF to send him reports on cases of corruption and financial crime over the last 3 years

    The Minister of State for Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Constant Mutamba, asked the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) to send him reports from the last three years documenting cases of corruption and financial crime for measures appropriate, announced Jules Alingete, Inspector General of Finance, head of department, following a meeting with the Minister of Justice this Monday, June 17, 2024.

    J. Alingete assured that this request will be processed within 3 days.

    “We have just met the authority which wishes to strengthen the fight against corruption, a priority of the President of the Republic. The Minister of Justice wants to make this fight a key element for the country's progress. He therefore asked us to quickly transmit all the reports from the last three years concerning acts of corruption and financial crime so that his ministry can act. We are committed to gathering these reports within the next 72 hours to submit them to the authority,” said J. Alingete.

    The Minister of Justice also asked to receive investigation reports concerning the funds intended for the victims of Kisangani, as well as those allocated to the rehabilitation of the courthouse.

    “Moreover, several audits were commissioned from the IGF, in particular on the use of funds intended for compensation for the victims of Kisangani. A team of inspectors is already on its way to Kisangani to verify the management of these funds by the public establishment FLUVIO. In addition, an audit of the courthouse rehabilitation work by the Milvest company is underway. The authority wishes to obtain all the details: contracts, funds released, financial and physical progress of the work ,” added J. Alingete Key.

    Last weekend, C. Mutamba ordered prosecutions against noise pollution and the practice of homosexuality in the DRC.
