Interesting. You’re right, I’m definitely not sure! Though other articles online list DRAM consumption as 24W per 256GB. Which isn’t much. This would make sense given that most PCs run off 550-750W power supplies (last time I looked at building one anyway) - which has to power the CPU, GPU, SSD, DRAM etc etc

This is true, hence my acknowledgement of PH’s point as being fair. I do understand the concept of marginal gains/savings, both from a cost and emissions perspective.
Doesn’t change my view that we need more than small percentage total system energy savings (irrespective of what that equates to on a large scale) to convince acquirers to fork out the sums we’re hoping for - they’re going to have to change their system architecture to accommodate this memory so will need to see multiple benefits (I would think).
Clearly 4DS think that they have these benefits, but based on their online ASX presentations, the Gold Coast investor briefing that I went to and the recent media articles/interviews, they either don’t know exactly where the tech will fit in/know, but are keeping their cards to their chest/aren’t very good at explaining it other than saying that it could work alongside SRAM and DRAM.

On a side note, I find it crazy that airlines try so hard to reduce their fuel costs - for example: planes are painted white as white paint has less pigment and therefore weighs less - yet they still often provide those inflight magazines despite everyone having phones/tablets and, in Europe at least, often still carry duty free perfumes and booze for purchase on board. Not as much as they used to, but still. Suggests they don’t have to sell much to outweigh the cost of the fuel! Emissions be damned.
