Davo,
Hal Colebatch wrote a book detailing union sabotage of our war effort. The unions were under the influence of the USSR who had no problems with Hitler in the early stage of the war. The unions then fell into line when the USSR and Germany were fighting.
Sabotage included removing the valves from radio transmitters being sent to Coast Watchers operating behind Japan's lines, deliberately dropping US fighter planes from cranes and refusing to unload ammunition ships etc...
The US was forced to use their soldiers to unload ammunition in Australia.
