Yeh to me the vagueness of the announcement suggests its probably more than an acid washout as rectification. Wouldn't they have attempted this if they really thought it was a simple fix instead of potentially affecting hole stability with an alameda test then having to case it again and or drill a sidetrack ?
I'm leaning more that the mud weight and chemistry is incorrect and they will need to drill another sidetrack to properly test the hole whether they are able to not I'm leaning more that Sherritt want their rig back hence why they had to move to testing Alameda.
