Yep - been wondering the same thing. I am guessing that they sidetrack above the Alameda DST area (above DST4, which I think will be around that 3,210m level where they cored). That means a 600+ metre run down into Marti again (15 or so days of drilling, plus completion) which would not come cheap. Hence the need to consult with Sonangol first.
If I were Sonangol (and dealing with MAY, who are over time and over budget), I would want to see what Alameda holds first, before committing further money to have another crack at Marti.
