Don't let the vocal minority in Golden Bay put you off.
Yes, they are hardcore, aggressive even, but I wouldn't go as far to say well financed. Most of them live in teepees, Bedford buses, and shipping containers. There are a group of about 30 who make an awful lot of noise, but the reality is the conservative and productive sector of Golden Bay would love to see a mine go ahead at Sams Creek.
