That 'opinion' piece/gripe misses the whole point of sites like Hot Copper, or maybe doesn't understand them in the first place; that they are sites where diverse views on the success or otherwise of a company can be viewed and provide an ulterior source of information free of market paid for spin.
For some reason it conflates robust criticism of a dog with being a troll. What, after having lost money on it I'm not allowed to complain and let others know how well it really is going? Or that if I want to post the sub rule is 'only praise allowed here or you are a troll'.
Maybe it might not help those stuck with the mangy woofer but it does save others from losing their money by buying in especially when you can have schills making out 'just around the corner', 'you need to understand this company', 'next week a big find' etc.
But I see there is no similar opinion piece saying 'getting on and continuously praising or unjustifiably talking up a company has no effect on the share price but just means you are a troll'.
