Not sure if I'm messing up but I'm getting a value in the thousands of cubic meters per day. Could you guys review and let me know if you see any problems with the below calculations?

Assuming 100% runtime, a 50 MW power plant running for 24 hours produces 1200 MWh in a day:

    50 MW * 24 hours * 100% = 1200 MWh per day

Per google, there are 94.8 cubic meters of natural gas in a MWh. Assuming the 60% efficiency that Brentb mentioned, this yields the following:

    1200 * 94.8 * 0.6 = 68256 cubic meters of natural gas per day.

On a seperate note, the above result has me worried about the quote from the Upstream Online article. Converting to mmcf yields:

    68256 * 35.3 / 1000000 = 2.4 mmcf per day

If the above calculation is correct, it likely means the 2 to 3 million cubic meters mentioned in the Upstream article was a typo and should have read 2 to 3 mmcf per day. In retrospect, I should have double checked that the number in the article was realistic; the revenue was much higher than a previous calculation I had done months ago so I should have been more suspicious...
