I don't know the real cost difference between nuke and renewables but one thing is clear: that neither are capable of providing the baseload generation the country needs.
this is where 9 years of destructive govt policies have left the country. If Abbott hadn't abolished the carbon price, which had enabled carbon emissions to fall by 10%+ in just 2 years, we would have been able to start a nuke plan and succeeded. but the Libs didn't think of this until a few months ago. and even that is nothing more than a thought bubble.
but yeh, the Labs aren't getting very far with improving emissions reductions or inspiring more investment. imo they're failing to deliver.
