@Tjoobie we would all be very grateful if you could raise this with your friend. The "insider knowledge" trades are not just recent. They have been happening all along. The pattern is obvious. The culprits should be easy to find...especially if there is a pattern of behaviour.

The same now I believe may hold true for the Alameda reservoir. You can engineer as much as you want. If the implementation is not there - youre just pissing in the wind. Go look at the videos posted by @the flow. It shows you just how much is involved in a mud program and how everything is based on what they measure on the spot.

Someone needs to investigate both drills (A2 and A3) and review in detail all the records (drill, mud, wireline) to see what really happened. Is it mud invasion into the more permeable zones killing permeability? If so, why was it not managed better? Can the surface tension of the emulsion be that strong so as to resist 10K psi of formation pressure pushing into a 1" diameter bullet hole (in the Alameda reservoir) - you could use that argument for slotted liner, but perf casing?

The same issues (formation damage due to mud and on other occasions due to cement) happened in Alameda 2 (Amistad 1) and now Alameda 3. Someone needs to pour the acid on the situation and find out what actually happened and what went wrong.
