We know some people believe absolutely in themselves and their own perspective of the world regardless of whether it conflicts with demonstrable facts. Is that narcissism or delusion or the same thing?

in assanges case we are now talking about a man who has spent a good many years with much time to contemplate life and himself. so he may come out a very different man from the one who first sought asylum in the embassy.

it’s also possible he was caught up in his own celebrity status at the time, or his own belief that what he was doing was morally right even if illegal somewhere in the world. The rape charges - I have no idea

I think I said earlier on the thread that I have mixed feelings about the man and those remain

I believe that now Assange, while filling a place in history, will remain a polarising figure and judgments about him will depend on where one sits on the more political matters
