    g'day chappy..... thats the salient point imo. parties remove the independence of each member and prevents them representing their electorate. instead membership of a party causes them to subscribe not to their electorates beliefs, not their own, but they MUST subscribe to the Party policies.

    this means that no MP can ever be truly representative of their community. instead they're compelled to represent the party values to the community.

    yes independents can lean left or right if we maintain the paradigm of right/leftism. but its a contrived division that removes free will and independence.

    instead of logging indis into right/left maybe assess them on what they say and believe measuring against your own values and desires.

    there've been plenty of independents who have run for potus but they get squeezed out by the absurd divisive paradigm.
