Talking of takeovers I noticed this re DEG (see image below). Found it interesting that there has been no bidders for DEG to date. Rumours about SPR TO have been strong for a while but not so for DEG.
There seems to have been quite a lot of M&A actions in the last 6 months. With very strong FCFs for the medium and large size gold miners at current POG and experts estimating further POG rises on the cards we may see a big prick up in M&A in the next 12 months in the gold sector.
SPR has one of the best developing deposits around, if not the best, so my guess SPR is on the watch list of a lot more than 2-3 potential bidders. We may see quite of lot of action on the SPR share register (ie changes) and further spikes in the SP if the updated MRE and reserve are good perhaps better than many expect (but also could be worse than expected).
Speaking of MRE update, next Tuesday will be 3 weeks since the last assay results so we may see some more this coming week and if so the MRE update may be a week or so later.
