It has nothing to do with Howard. Middle managers and managers will exploit.
IMO shareholder, business owners , workers and customers have been exploited excessively worse year on year by the more powerful mangers .
The truth is though, in free markets these businesses/organisations disappear. However, in organisations like govt, banks and other oligopolies where the barriers of entry are raised for competitors, even in a professional, accreditation sense, eg. the extra tickets you need for various things the tyranny grows. Unions have actually made it worse for some to lead flexible lives.
It was when I was in a unionised environment when I heard the concept of the boss wanting to own you.
Of course if the part times/casual workers become full employed that upsets the power structure of exploitation of the managers and for the unions people would be happier which means unions are less relevant as it would be if people had more rights!!!
What the power brokers have misread longterm is in the end when the mining is over people will pick another country , based on peoples will, the forces of supply and demand!!
