Argentine pesos or Zimbabwe dollars were a great hoid too weren't they?
Japan had to buy billions of US treasuries in order to keep their economy floating after their long market decline in the 90s and US kept finding ways to export inflation.
I remember when they bought the whole Church street strip in Parramatta in the late 80s when Japan's stock market was booming and 5 years later dumped the lot at 40c on the dollar to mainly locals.
Now those devaluing treasuries are a millstone and helped to trash the Yen and will soon bite them hard as they go down the path of a Sushi Republic.
