These days, a lot of people willingly allow themselves to be lied to, recently as we were told by CNN, at the rate of one lie every 90 seconds in the US.

I think the key is whether each of us have the integrity to stand up to these lies and ask ourselves whether we have enough common sense and/or basic education to know what is a lie and what is not. And then to act accordingly. There are agents or middlemen from time immemorial in human society who would aid and abet the liar and the dissemination of their lies, in the hope of gains for themselves, but the image of one Michael Cohen somehow stuck in my head. He was talking about his children at one point, and it grieves but also lifts me up to hear that he cares enough about the person that he is, to reflect on what he has done, and importantly, to call out the liar and the lies for himself.

That is assuring to know.
