Looking at some of the most heavily shorted lithium producers and the current trading patterns, I,m wondering how on earth shorts are going to cover their positions.
PLS,LTR,SYA are all producers or about to produce, but have huge short positions currently in place when lithium sentiment is probably at an all time low and lithium prices are crap.I suspect most long term retail holders wont be selling at the moment because they beleive in the companies and that lithium sentiment and prices will eventually turn.So who will the shorters buy their shares from to close positions?Where will these supplies of shares come from.
I think at the moment the share price movements are mainly shorters buying and selling to themselves without managing to significantly close positions. If you look at the 5 minute charts for some pls and ltr similar patterns are repeated with gapping down in early trade, any substantial buy volume results in share price jumping, then low volume pushing prices down and large volumes in aftermarket auction.A look at shortman shows relatively small reductions in shorts held.
How long can these cnuts maintain open short positions before they eventually have to close them, thus pushing the price up?I,m holding positions in sya,pls and ltr (plus a couple of others lithium cos)and believe producing mines and their investors should see a reward for their investment and hard work,so in my opinion this shorting and manipulating the share price is absolutely despicable and should be banned,as it contributes nothing and sucks wealth away from people investing and earning to amoral, greedy investment bankers who contribute nothing.I recall Goldman Sachs were described by a judge in one of their many prosecutions as a "vampire squid" sucking the lifeblood from genuine investors.State Street,Citi,MS are all similar.
Cant wait to see the shorts burn and karma to occur.
