I was around back then (approximately 2014) when the share price spiked to $1.32 in waiting on the results of the study. Yes you are 100% right, the study ended up being a failure due to the flawed design of the study itself. The results of the study drew inconclusive at the time. After a full post mortem, PBT Management recognised where they fell short and set about to change things moving forward. Fast forward 10 years and now we not only have an "open study" in progress but also a "double blinded placebo study". The two biggest differences with each study is 1, the open label study is for long term MSA sufferers and the double blind placebo study is for new MSA Sufferers. The other difference is with the Open Label Study, Scientists can openly talk with the Patients and make adjustments throughout the Study based on each patients progress.
As Outlander2 pointed out a couple of days ago, we may see a difference in results from each study as the iron build up in a long term sufferers will be much greater and take a lot longer to rectify.
Either way, to answer the quote from 5 Cents, I still believe we are on the right track here. I believe we will definitely be successful and I am confident Dr Stamler has already engaged in conversation with potential partnering suitors. Dr Stamler is a sharp guy and a good operator. He has previous experience in taking orphan drugs to market. He certainly knows what it takes and I have all the confidence in the world he will get us over the finish line. One thing to take note of here is, we have so much to look forward to over the next six months leading up to the results of the double blind placebo study next January. Next weeks results aren't the bee all and end all of what ATH is doing, albeit important, we have other fish to fry over the coming 6 months. Giving Dr Stamler 120,000,000 Options is a massive sign we are certainly on the right track and we are going to be successful in due course. Dr Stamler would be looking for the exit doors rather than a big bag full of options if the trials weren't shaping up to be fruitful. Take a moment to let that resonate. This man is on a mission and he knows exactly what he is doing. Personally, I am really excited about the next 6 months and think Alterity may surprise us all.
