French nuclear giant scraps SMR plans due to soaring costs, will start over, page-153

Surely it's well past time to dispense with the absolute fiction that the LNP have spent more than two seconds coming up with this "plan".
Well maybe they did. Maybe the people that they are using are just this dumb.

But only the most gullible fools must believe the LNP at this point. I'm going to have a quick look back at the timeline for my own personal enjoyment.

First the plan was to have SMRs everywhere.

Then it was pointed out that SMRs don't exist yet.

So the plan became to have traditional nuke plants everywhere.

Then it was pointed out that WA and SA don't have a grid that can support the even the smallest trad nuke.

So the plan became to have some trad nukes and some SMRs (even though earlier SMRs had been backed away from due to their unavailability).

In parallel tomfoolery Angus told us that industry would build and own these plants as they would be so profitable.

Then no one at all in industry wanted to take him up on that offer to invest billions to take decades to build something that would be obsolete before it was even completed.

So the plan became to have government built, owned and operated nuke plants.

Now we have the shadow minister claiming we'll build multiple trad nukes on the same site if we need more capacity.

I assume at some point it'll be pointed out that the cost effectiveness of traditional nuclear (such that it is) comes from having larger traditional plants, not having multiple small traditional reactors.

And that brain fart will go the way of the others.

What an absolute joke of a party.
Only the most gullible fools or paid shills would support this "plan".
Only a fool would believe an actual plan for this exists.
