Gartenfan´s summary is a way too pessimistic.
I am from Germany and seen the documentation.
short summary:
1st part: the documetary showed that there is a big labour market in the Mining at Austria. A huge chance for jobs ongoing geologist students- they interviewed students and teachers.
2nd part: some company´s have been introduced- specially a running graphite mine and the Wolfsberg project.
Mr. Wanke said following:
- actuall starting in 2026 (starting phase)
- full operating in 2027
- Invest: 500 Mio
- already invested: 40 Mio
- sales volume by actual low lithium pricing: 200 Mio each year
- by 10 Year operation: 2000 Mio
- he showed some lithium ore and explained what they want to do there...
- only one sentence from the commentator was at the end that the residents fear more traffic
3nd part:
- Interviews with geologists, residents etc.
- geologists and politics opinion: Great chance for Austria
- Residents meaning : they are feeling uncomfortable with planned projects. They interviewed for example an older woman in a town where a plant for natural gas is planned - not in Wolfsberg.
In total there was a lot of hints to the european critical mineral act. The EU wants to support the mining in the EU
