I see that Mercedes announced a14B euro investment in ice engine technologies this week.
I also see that Mckinsey’s survey (30000 participants) states that 29% of EV drivers are likely to switch back to ice vehicles for their next purchase. The countries with the highest % of disaffected EV owners are Aus (49%), USA (46%), Brazil (38%) and China (28%). All large countries geographically.
The countries with the lowest indication of going back to ice are Japan, Italy, France and Norway - all relatively small countries with a switchback preferences of between 13 and 18%.
Quite frankly I am astonished that anyone would ever go back to ice after owning EV based on all of the great things I have read about ev.
I think that the rake up of EV is got higher headwinds then the advocates realise(d).
