This matter does seem to have been dealt with when the issue arose a few years ago. Foreign citizenships "involuntary imposed" eg where there's no avenue for a dual citizen to repudiate their foreign citizenship are not excluded from Australian parliaments. Payman's right to be a senator should be upheld if it's deemed there are not avenues for her Afghan citizenship to be dissolved.
