While there is little discussion about it, major lithium operations are starting to use front-end ore sorters.
PLS recently noted in their ore resource update that they were implementing ore sorting as part of their P680 project.
Nearby, Mt Cattlin noted in their August 2023 NI43-101 technical report around Stage 4 expansion that they initially had problems but the TOMRA optical ore sorter is exceeding expectations.
