one thing came up in the last week on political discussions here in Fr - there was a 'concern' raised by one group or in a discussion group on the 'very concerning possibility' that France might not have a government - ie. be left in limbo because of how the voting chips may fall tomorrow
my partner made a comment that I thought - yep

she said that someone should remind them that Belgium has this as a habit - can't form a government - and yet, the country runs on very nicely on a day to day situation for extended periods ---------- so it's not really all that big a concern.

I'd been in Belgium in a time like that several years back - where they hadn't had a government for ? from memory - about a year - yet, life went on, on any street pretty merrily - trade looked normal, people walked down the street without staggering, everyone ate, everyone wore clothes - I did notice that there seemed to be roadworks that we just sitting there and looked like they hadn't been worked on it many weeks - the weeds in the piles of stuff in the middle of the blocked roads were a bit of a giveaway -
but, everyone worked around that. the rubbish was being picked up ------- life, just went on

life happens, in spite of government functioning ------- quite amazing really
