I get that you don't accept the imperative that global warming provides for emissions reductions. but its ignoring the data and observations of global warming that enables such arguments.
we've just had 9 years of deliberate ignorance of AGW. it is proven that human emissions have altered our weather system through the heating of the atmosphere. given this, the previous LibNat govt were, in my mind, criminally negligent.
we now have another party in govt and they're showing their incompetence but at least they're taking AGW seriously - even if they fail to achieve their targets at least they're making an effort.
net zero has been adopted by businesses all over the country and all over the world. even conservative govts recognise the imperative.
