Not anymore! I would say the former king.
It has almost US$35 trillion debt, and is growing. Everyday it has to pay more than US $2 billion for interest alone.
What the US has been doing is running a ponzi scheme; borrow money to pay older debt. Sooner rather than later it will crash.
