Payman apparently has some personal following given she beat the No.2 by 25% on the ALP ticket.
true she wouldn't have got into the Senate without some Party backing. but her choice of party betrayed what she sees as a primary issue. thats how she's described it.
her actions are democracy in action. its the Party rules that are the problem.
