My point is that one of the possible "alternative arrangements" banks may consider is a takeover offer from Bright or A2M, if it includes appropriate provisions for the debt being repaid.
I generally think it would make no sense for A2M to oppose the loan without being prepared with such an offer. I also don't think Bright would be prepared to let Synlait go into receivership without making its own offer. And I don't think Bright would be prepared to negotiate with A2M unless they have to in order to avoid the receivership scenario.
These are just my opinions, not sweeping statements of fact.
