If you watched the video you would realise that the psychological shifts the guy interviewed outlines stretch from
- post WWII living with Russia
- to prospering next to Russia for many decades
- to quite suddenly an anti Russia sentiment dominating the media after joining the EU
- to fear after the invasion of Ukraine and a sudden (in terms of the average FInn) move to join NATO
- and now to a sense of WTF have we done and a bit of underground buyers regret developing as the consequences sink in
Very interesting to understand what it is like to be right there in the thick of it and sense how the locals see it all.
On the move of troops, my guess would be that a logical immediate priority for Putin was to focus on a hot war in Ukraine over a longer term adjustment to the Finnish situation. A logical response to the here and now.
Finally, that a much quoted (by many experts) paper that outlined pre the conflict " the actions the United States and its allies could pursue across economic, political, and military areas to stress—overextend and unbalance—Russia’s economy and armed forces and the regime's political standing at home and abroad."
which includes a section on:
"Providing lethal aid to Ukraine would exploit Russia’s greatest point of external vulnerability"
is of no interest to you is a bit mystifying. Here is another chance to expand your horizons:
