Well, there were NO nurses on duty at all, no-one to make an initial assessment and give priority. The doctors that were in the hospital were treating patients. Everyone in that emergency room, and there would have been 20+ were being evaluated by an admin person! There were people in there who were extremely ill, some with cancer who were in the middle of chemo. The AW Emergency dept is there for locals and surrounds and the 'surrounds' extends a long way out of Albury / Wodonga, an hour+ so it's a helluva decision to make to drive into to AW Emergency in the middle of the night.
What you experienced in Sydney is a long way off the experiences of what those in regional areas and the bush receive!
