@rabbitoh - I was disappointed firstly with Labor's decision to oust her (surely there is room in a democratic party for differing opinions) and secondly with her opportunism, now that she has a seat, she grabs onto it by becoming 'independent'.

She got into Parliament as a member of the Labor team, she should not benefit from her election now since deciding she will have no more truck with Labor.
What I don't like is that she wears her religious 'gear' out in public - anyone in Parliament should be wearing 'normal' clothes - (similar with the beautiful weather girl on TV, who should wear her head scarf, however minimal, in public) - it is advertising her/their religion. Religious gear should be worn like folk dress, on special occasions only - (does one see a Scotsman wear his kilt in Parliament?)
Religions are a curse upon humanity in general, and 'prescriptive religions' are the worst of the lot, as they cleverly inject neural viruses into their 'believers' which makes it impossible for their believers to accept new ideas, makes them immune to logic, makes them intolerant of other views etc. etc.
A backward step by both, Sen Peyman and Labor.
