My predictions about when an announcement is about to occur is generally based on how a stock is trading, previous company guidance, and gut feeling.
CCC announced on 05/11/2010 that "Mashala was aquired by Continental Coal in mid-2010, with the transaction due to settle in the coming days".
Just about all of CCC's significant announcements are always made well prior to market open, so having there not been any news released prior to market open today I have come to the conclusion that it will be Monday.
Reasons for Monday:
- transaction due to settle in coming day's. As per company guidance.
- CCC would be very keen to finalise proir to AGM.(Management do have some Oppies that they want to get over the line).
- With time difference between here and South Afica vital business may have needed to be completed by the end of the week. Hence no chance of an announcement today.
- The "WOW" factor. Get more exposure to the wider market with a good announcement first thing Monday morning. Especially if big volumes start going through a stock early in the session.

I did originally think that we would have got an announcement today on the finalisation of Mashala because it would have given people alot to talk about over the weekend. But was'nt able to say so as I was doing time. So I would have been wrong. But I'm happy to be able to pick them within a few day's.
