sorry persistentone but there is no such thing as "typical" when you are talking about the weather over here.
Basically the rainy season is when the tropical monsoon pattern is most active (bit like your "hurricane season").
This is generally from November to March but how much rain and when is anybody's guess, especially when you factor in the Southern Oscillation Index which is currently trending towards higher than "average" rainfall til the end of January. It has been in this range for the past 3>4 months already.
