Looks as though BYD is making the switch to sodium ion batteries. From https://www.ecoticias.com/en/chinese-battery-sodium-ion/4063/ :
"BYD’s sodium-ion batteries will use a new battery chemistry developed in-house. The company claims its batteries have a range comparable to lithium-ion batteries but with advantages such as faster charging times and higher energy density"
If true this will be a game changer for EVs and make the current lithium-powered generation obsolete overnight.
