My understanding is that there are a few with their sights on it - Dymocks, QBD are in there also.. I don't think there will be a "bidding war" so hoping Kogan can snap up a good deal, streamline it and revive it. Booktopia was a market darling during covid, few hundred million MC that's now 10 million but liquidating. It's price has been smashed because of bad management. I just wish that KMP didn't scrape the coffers of KGN a few months back, they'd have more to play with in this purchase.
Saying that though, KGN have around 40m in the bank or more and debt free right?
I know Kogan have been looking to diversify as much as possible recently, the luxury furniture purchase, mobile, internet etc, Mighty Ape...most have worked at least, from memory, their superannuation deals didnt is the only one that was net 0.
KGN is really lining up as a one stop shop and their memberships savings will be boosted if they can get over the line with Booktopia purchase.
I think this would be a great addition also, I'm up 7% in around 24hrs already, so happy for the top up.
