The actual issue is the fact that the Left and Right are now so far apart...... You are not going to have Communities that function well when this occurs. Look back at history and its the same result time and time again.
The factors being raised are really items that are driving the divide between the groups. It hasn't been helped by many items, for example: the fact that the progressive left are starting to say that the people in the middle are now right/far right. As a person that grow up as a progressive I now find myself more and more being called right, even far right. Yet my values have not changed much.
The experiment is not going to end well as history has taught us... as the divide is now so deep that it will get to the point that people no longer trust the government, elections etc...
