I agree in the interest of both the local community and the shale industry need a final closure decision from the UK government on their flip flop policy on fracking Refracktion.
But one needs to remind them that it was Mr Miliband who was the Energy Secretary in 2008-2010 that gave out shale license and approve fracking licenses. Then 2010-2015 the then Tory/Lib Dem coalition led by PM David Cameron gave full support to shale fracking to prove up the resource potential of UK shale secure new supply of natural gas for the UK. And the the Tory voted against fracking ban recently.
It was based on the back of these ministerial statements and government of the day policies in the last 16 years that Cuadrilla and investors spent hundreds million of pound to do all the exploration in good faith to prove up the potential of UK shale.
