agree with what you say about directors buying and selling and asic's role in scrutinizing this, but have often observed that asic doesn't seem to get as involved in what at times appears like inside trader activites with the smaller spec shares.
Also have often thought what an impossible role for asic controlling directors buying anyway.
What's stopping directors using a friend/proxy to buy sell for them, maybe they would have to give them a percentage but hey, profits still there to be made for them.
