Following the discussion of notice periods @Wedgeman7@chingy@Gerrado it could be 6 months or it might not be, anywhere from 1 to 12 months (see below guideline for NPOs but presumably applies for any CEO roles), who knows, none of us will know unless we either see the employment contract or if we ask Archer and if they decide to disclose. Reading between the lines, though:
- If it was him voluntarily staying around then I think they might have stated this is more than his notice period (if applicable) to calm our nerves, but they did not, so this lack of inclusion supports that it is just his 6 months notice period. - @fisherking has already corrected me (on the back of my post about him only sticking around if he wanted to, not knowing about CEO notice periods) that the statement concludes with saying "we wish him well in his other ventures" - indicating that he in fact does have other ventures, potentially ongoing now, or, potentially in future, and the word 'ventures' in business specifically meaning speculative or risky businesses, or business startups which always involve a good amount of risk.
Could the reference to 'his other ventures' just be an inference to imply that they note he his a very capable person and giving him the praise that it is expected he will be involved in much success, as a means of a compliment? Or, is it less of a 21st speech, and more of a publicly listed company praise speech, and they're softly advising to those astute enough to notice, that he is leaving because he has other ducks lined up?
