1 We are really interested in what is happening globally more than whether Italy was warmer in Roman times
Globally we are warmer than Roman times

2 Currently cold does kill more than heat Most of it due to to the spread of diseases like influenza Doesnt mean to say it will stay this way and wont reverse

3.Yes the world is greener now and yes the benefits of CO2 are there The two undoubted benefits are an increase in most(not all) crop yields and slowing down the rate that the world warms up.However long after the benefits of increased co2 have plateaued the the world will continue warming and with the warming will come the need for change as key agricultural areas become no longer capable of producing what they did before
Yes to counter global loss of farmland large areas of Russia and Canada will become climatically suitable for small grains
But agriculture is more than just climate and more than just rainfall.It is the interaction of rainfall, temperature ,soil types ,daylight hours and many other factors etc some of which we can control and some of which we cant
More over modern agriculture is not just a case of chucking a few seeds in the ground and watching them grow It is supported by a complex system of infrastructure such as roads and dams and communication and has breeding programs which have become increasing more specific over the last century
Todays cultivars could be unsuitable for a future where we dont understand soil types or what the climatic conditions may be. Infrastrucure in the far north of Canada and Russia is limited to non existant
there also will be a much reduced communal collective intelligence

4Sure there are less disaster deaths This is not because there less disasters but more to do with our increasing ability to deal with them.It also does not mean that there is not an increased cost with dealing with disasters - as any insurance actuary will tell you
