    Hey Seahunt

I just read an interesting article on Data Centres and the need for power. Some pretty inteesting stuff happening powerwise.

    https://www.fticonsulting.com/insights/articles/current-power-trends-implications-data-center-industry

Not sure how to join the dots but when I read the article I was reminded of your post and some other comments from others about how the 'delay' in getting something to market means that the effectiveness / emphasis of the 4DS offering is changing.

In any case in the article above, it talks about data centres needing increasing sheet loads of energy. Conceptually, I see that in terms of access and cost.

If there is a movement towards 'behind the meter' energy projects (that is the data centre owners / operators increasingly move toward direct access to energy plants) then that reduces / eliminates the 'access' side of things and you would think would dramatically reduce the (ongoing, not upfront) cost particuarly if you start doing things like buying/building your own plants (like Amazon did) ro entering into partnerships with 3rd party enegy providers.

And to put this in perspective (timewise) Amazon did this just a couple of months ago so it is sorta happening now, not into the long-term future.

So can you or anyone else for that matter who is better versed in these things than me, talk to the implications for what it is that 4DS 'sells' as its benefits? Has this any implications for the 'centralised' versus 'edge' sectors need for 4DS 'stuff'?

    Cheers
