If a 10kWh lithium batteries only requires 11kWh to full charge it for that battery to be as good as new you can only use safely as per the manufactures warranty 50% of it capacity therefore you only get in return for your 11kWh of input 6.5kWh in return.
Fairly sure thats what RTE means so YES I think usable energy is important to compare batteries chemistry .
