Think you're forgetting something. Intel (IFS) is partnered with BRN.
Bottom line objective to partnering is to gain benefit from the other partner.
Intel's chip Lohi is STILL at research stage with no clear commercial timeline but BRN's Akida is available now and technically superior
IMO Seems clear why Intel wanted to partner.
