P2P payment apps have become very popular in the US. One of the reason I think they became popular was because up to 20% of the US population couldn't get a bank account and Cash App served as a type of bank account for them. It grew really quickly as if you had a Cash App account and wanted to pay someone they would need to download the Cash App as well. They called it viral growth.
If Afterpay was to role out products that are available in Cash App in the US here in Australia they may decide to roll out P2P payments. I don't feel we have the same drivers for growth as they do in the US. Does anyone think a cool feature for Afterpay would be to have P2P functionality so if you go out for dinner it would be easy to split a bill or you could accept payments and send payments to your friends via Afterpay.
