I have in the 90s when my dad used to work on big Unisys mainframes. The mainframe sat in a special room with an elevated floor for the AC ducting. Even with constant AC the room was hot.
The machines may have miniaturized and got much more powerful since then but the heat still remains.
Feel the back of your phone or the vent on your laptop. They can get pretty warm. Multiply that by 1000s of times.
