Not sure STO are in a "precarious financial situation".
As reported this morning they have - FCF of US$1.06B with US$380M this QTR. and Barossa, Pikka and (Moomba)CCS well underway if not nearing completion.
I'm not currently a holder of STO but they seem to be going pretty well.
When they finalise some of these projects, they will have to turn their attention to tapping into 80% of "75,000 to 100,000 barrels/day" at Dorado plus another 70% of "43 million barrels of oil" just 46km away at Pavo.
There have been a lot of changes at STO in recent years, and according to Gallagher they are focussing on operations and delivery. I think 2025 will see CVN very well supported.
